Calming White Kitchen and Bathroom – 2024

This kitchen and bathroom renovation updated a late-1990s home to better support the needs of an active family, balancing functionality with a calm, modern aesthetic. In addition to the kitchen and primary bath, the adjacent dining area was refreshed to create a cohesive main-level experience, with each space thoughtfully connected through material continuity and improved flow.

In the kitchen, mismatched flooring was replaced with luxury vinyl plank that now runs continuously across the main level, visually tying the kitchen and dining spaces together. The kitchen layout was upgraded to accommodate multiple cooktops, a secondary sink, an oversized refrigerator, and a beverage cooler, allowing the space to function efficiently for everyday use and entertaining. Layered lighting enhances both task and ambient needs, while durable finishes support long-term performance.

The dining area was reimagined as a functional extension of the kitchen, featuring statement lighting that anchors the space, open shelving for display and storage, and a built-in coffee bar that adds convenience and personality. These updates create a natural gathering zone that feels intentional and well integrated into the overall layout.

During construction, previously hidden water damage was discovered while addressing a ceiling repair, prompting a coordinated renovation of the upstairs primary bathroom. The bath was redesigned to replace an oversized jetted tub with a freestanding model better suited to the space. A cramped shower stall was removed in favor of a spacious custom-tiled shower, while heated tile floors add comfort year-round. Together, the kitchen, dining area, and bathroom updates reflect a thoughtful renovation that prioritizes practicality, comfort, and cohesive design throughout the home.
